ZCE5: a robust and reliable solution for railcar loading applications
GALANA is the Leading Independent Oil Operator of the Indian Ocean. With locations in Madagascar, Dubai, Mauritius and East Africa, Galana is a regional entity with very close relationships with its customers and suppliers.
Vertical metering systems ZCE5 have been selected for fuels rail car top loading applications in Madagascar because of their robust and reliable design. Designed for vertical installation in compact pipeline network, this metering system is a ready-made technology including filtering system, gas eliminator, positive displacement meter and multifunction valve. The selected flow computer is a Satam Equalis device dedicated to loading and unloading applications. It includes batch-controller functionalities with comprehensive monitoring of loading operations, secured data logging of transactions and events and communication with the supervisory system. The complete ZCE5-Equalis metering system is approved for custody transfer measurement according to OIML R117 International Recommendation.
Commissionning of blending metering systems for biofuels preparation
Satam has just completed the commissionning of blending metering systemsEMS48 Equalis L dedicated to E10 and E05 biofuels preparation on the oil depot of Total Lespinasse (France).
Satam has been supplying complete metering systems EMS48 Equalis equipped with control valves. Furthermore, Satam has validated the Metrology compliance folder according to the European regulation (MID approval).
The flow computer Equalis L receives alcohol and gasoline flowrate measurements and blending ratio value. It controls the alcohol valve opening in order to maintain a constant ratio between the gasoline main flow rate and the alcohol flowrate. The biofuel is then measured by a Satam PD meter during truck loading operations.
Satam is getting stronger in "oil depots revamping" activity
Satam has secured an order to upgrade custody transfer metering units at the oil depot "Dépot Pétrolier d'Ambès" (France). 3 gantries are going to be upgraded; this represents the installation of 20 bottom loading points. Measured medium are gasoline, diesel and fuel oil. As Satam is certified for manufacturing, commissionning and repair of custody transfer metering units, the complete installation will be MID approved (compliance with European Weight and Measures regulations).
This project consists of replacing existing turbine meters by Satam vertical metering systems ZCE5 Equalis. The connection of the Equalis batch controllers with the existing automation supervisory system is also included in the project.
The ZCE5 vertical metering system is dedicated to truck loading applications. Its compact design allows an easy installation into a compact pipeline network. The Equalis L flow computer will manage the loading operations and the security devices. Equalis L will also control the process of fuel additives injections. Thanks to its outstanding storage and communication functions, the Equalis L will aslo manage transactions, events archiving and communication with the automation and supervisory system.
Launch of a new Positive Displacement Meter for 330 m3/h
The Satam PD meter product range has now a new high capacity ZC17 model.
This ZC17 330 model can measure up to 330 m3/h (5500 LPM, 1453 GPM). Its accuracy is better than 0.15% of measuring volume.
As all ZC17 PD meters, its accuracy measurement is independent of viscosity and density changes and its operating conditions in pressure, temperature and viscosity remain the same.
With an installation length of 450 mm and a measuring cell totally protected against pipeline stresses and vibrations, ZC17 330 is a compact and robust solution for your liquid hydrocarbons and non corrosive chemicals measurements.
